The EKO Powerformer Enhancement project included major revamps in order to achieve 98 RONC and 12 month run length while processing 10,000 BPSD naphtha. The project modifications concerned the main two areas of the unit, the Reaction Section and the Light Ends Section.
In the Reaction Section, new main equipment installed included a new bigger Reactor for production increase as a replacement for one of the three existing reactors, along with installation of a new compressor, which was deemed necessary to cover the new requirements and minimize the Catalytic regeneration time.
In the Lights Ends Section, three new towers replace one of the existing separation towers to increase the overall unit processing capacity, with simultaneous modifications of the internal trays in another tower.
