The Methanator Unit treats the gas feed to Isomerization Unit, so that the CO will be transferred to methane and water thus absorbing the CO from the feed that deactivates the isomerization catalyst. This Methanator Unit was designed as a package item skid mounted in one or more pieces. The project scope included the installation and interconnecting of new isomerization gases methanator unit. Specifically: Basic & Detailed Desing of interconnecting and support equipment, New methanator skid plot plan, Participation in HAZOP study.
In the framework of the Project of the new Methanator Unit, the design of which has been undertaken by Axens, the need has arisen to install a lube oil removal container from the process gas.
