The services include in this project for the offshore sections of Eastmed are:
- preparation of an ESIA Study in accordance with the national and European legislation and the EBRD requirements. Its structure will follow the provisions of the national legislations, and special attention is given to the appropriate assessments regarding protected areas,
- support to the Project Owner, during the consultation of the ESIA, till the issuance of the Environmental Terms Approval (ETA) decision,
- preparation of the application files and of all necessary documents required in each country related to grant of shoreline, coastline and sea bottom permits and Authorizations procedures in relation to the installation of the offshore pipeline sections, as well as any required support till their issuance.
ASPROFOS should provide for Greece, a complete ESIA for the offshore sections within Greek jurisdiction, i.e. at the following areas:
— between Crete and South Peloponnese,
— between Cyprus and Crete.
Each ESIA must follow the structure requested by the national legislations and they shall be in accordance with the national and European legislation and the EBRD Requirements.

Description
Offshore pipeline consists of four section:
- Offshore pipeline section from an Eastern Mediterranean gas source (offshore between Israel and Cyprus) to Cyprus (Vassiliko). A compression station of 96 MW (in the project initial phase) on an offshore facility (out of project battery limit) in the territorial waters of Israeli may be part of the project
- Length: approximately 300km
- Maximum Water Depth: 2330m
- Indicative pipeline diameter in the order of 28” – 30” (subject to assessment and confirmation)
- Max Gradient: 13°
- Indicative power of Compression station: 100 MW
- Compressor station in Cyprus (Vassiliko), as well as the two small onshore sections, from the landfalls to this Compressor station
- Offshore pipeline section from Cyprus (Vassiliko) to South East Crete (Atherinolakkos area) landfall, up to the Baseline as defined by UNCLOS. The short onshore section from Atherinolakkos Compressor station to the landfall is not included in the present scope.
- Length:732km
- Maximum Water Depth: 3000m
- Indicative pipeline diameter in the order of 26” – 28” (subject to assessment and confirmation)
- Max Gradient: 27°
- Offshore pipeline section from Crete (Atherinolakkos area) to South Peloponnese up to the Baseline as defined by UNCLOS. No onshore section in Greece is included in the present scope
- Length: 421km
- Maximum Water Depth: 1370 m
- Indicative pipeline diameter in the order of 26” – 28” (subject to assessment and confirmation)
