Description

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline - TAP Project has been given the status of Project of Community Interest (PCI) under the Trans – European Energy Infrastructure (TEN-E). TAP is a proposed pipeline system that will transfer natural gas from the Shah Deniz II field in Azerbaijan by the most direct route to Southern Europe. In short, TAP’s proposed pipeline route starts from the Greek / Turkish border, near Kipoi, travers northern Greece westwards, enters Albania, crosses the Adriatic Sea and finally comes ashore in southern Italy near the area of San Foca (Lecce).
