- The Nea Messimvria Compressor Station located in an area of 8,862 m2 has been designed for remote operation from a Telemetric system. Specifically, operational control is performed from the Gas Control Centre of Patima (GCC) or the Back up Control Centre (BCC) of Nea Messimvria.
- Additional compression was necessary in the National Gas Transmission System (NGTS) in order to meet the required pressures during the initial period of operation.
Stage 1: 2 x 7.5 MW turbine driven compressors acting as 100% duty and standby
Stage 2: (Future requirements) 1 x 7.5 MW turbine driven compressor, building and minor interface modifications

- Detailed Engineering Review
Review of the detailed design as set out in the EPC Contract implemented by the technical volume and the applicable Codes & Standards. Review of the design extends to cover all deliverables and final documentation, such as technical plans, procedures, methodology approaches for management, quality, testing etc, and all engineering activities which were implemented throught the project execution phases.
- Supervision
- Supervision and acceptance of all technical methods applied during the execution of the Project.
- Monitoring of the progress of the project, intervening when corrective actions need to be implemented to avoid divergence from the requirements set out in the EPC Contract.
- Support to the Project Manager in relation to progress verification and payment.
- Assess any key design risks when indentified, something which expanded the review activity accordingly.
Description
The project concerned the Review of Engineering, Procurement and Construction of Nea Messimvria Compressor Station and Construction Supervision Services by the Consortium consisting of ASPROFOS S.A. & ILF Gmb.
The whole Project comprised of three (3) main types of activities:
- Detailed Engineering in accordance with Specifications and Basiс Design documentation provided by Employer
- Procurement ofEquipment and Materials;
- Erection of the Compressor Station as well as consequent Precomissioning, Commissioning &Testing of the whole Compressor Station complex and its trial Operation for 90 days. Training of Employer’s personnel is also included into the Contractor’s Scope of Works.
