Asprofos was responsible to monitor all activities during construction and post-construction phase and focused on:
The park at Kozani is the largest to date RES project in operation in Greece and in the greater area of South-Eastern Mediterranean, as well as one of the largest photovoltaic parks in Europe, with a total installed power amounting to 204.3 MW. It is estimated that it will generate 350 GWh of energy annually, while it will meet the needs of 75,000 households with zero emissions energy.
The total investment has been approximately €130 mil., significantly beneficial for the national economy, as well as for the area of Western Macedonia, as over 350 jobs have been created during construction, while tens of direct and indirect jobs will be sustained during operation, most of which will be covered by local inhabitants.
The construction of the plant, which is the largest one in Europe with bifacial photovoltaic modules and has a state-of-the-art automations system monitoring and checking production (Energy Management System), was completed within the time schedule, despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic. The main project contractor was the company JUWI, while the construction supervision was undertaken by the ΑSPROFOS.
